The first phase of my work life was in Financial Services becoming the HR Director for Abbey Life; part of the Lloyds Banking Group. After 10 years in this role I decided to get out of the corporate world.
In 2002 I eventually turned by back on working with ‘big business’ and embarked on two new ventures; building a start-up retailer and combining this with climbing in the world’s mountain ranges. Whilst the last recession meant the vision of a retail business model became unsustainable my love for the mountains continues.
I have lived by the belief that we would all want the opportunity to achieve our full potential. What ‘blocker to success’ are getting in the way? How can they be removed? What new habits do we need to learn and what present habits are not helping?
Today my work passion is finding ways to help others continue their own journey. My strong view is that large corporations are not the future. Creating opportunities for SME’s to prosper and grow is a far more worthwhile investment if we want our grandchildren to become passionate about a long and prosperous working life.
